Lucia Sarto was born in the Udine area in 1950. In 1961 she won First Prize in a painting competition organized in the Region's Middle Schools. She trained as an artist in Venice and Turin, cities in which she would successfully participate in a number of group shows. It was in Turin, a famous centre of Italian artistic and cultural life, that she was recognized Female Painter of the Year, with the most significant of her "Romantic Realism" paintings figuring in a one-woman show at the Palazzo della Regione. She has participated in more than one hundred exhibitions, holding a total of fifty one-woman shows in Italy and abroad. Lucia Sarto's paintings are to be found in important private and public collections in Munich, New York, Tokyo, Nagoya, Vienna, Frankfurt, London, Portofino, and Venice.
